Directions to Liz Levin & Company
For those of you who know Charlestown, we are at 342 Bunker Hill St. near the St. Francis De Salle Church, not too far from the Schraft’s Building. We are across from Doherty Park and a traffic signal. To reach us, here is what we recommend:
Public Transportation
If you come by public transportation we can help you get a ride back to the orange line and we have the schedule for the bus that leaves nearly in front of our house.
Bus:
Take the 93 bus from Downtown Crossing (Franklin St. at the corner of Washington St.), from Post Office Square, or from Government Center. It runs every seven minutes at rush hour (20 minutes non-rush hour) and drops you off almost at our building. Get off at the Francis De Salles Church. Walk to the traffic light at Doherty Park and we are right across the St. in the brick building.
Transit:
Take the Orange Line to Sullivan Square. Walk downstairs to the 93 and 92 buses. Cross the parking lot and take the 93 bus. It drops you off nearly at our building—Doherty Park. You can also walk from Sullivan Station (12 minutes). Walk down the stairs to the 93 and 92 buses; take the path across the MBTA parking lot, then walk around Sullivan Square towards the Schraft’s Building across Rutherford Ave. Turn right on Bunker Hill St. and walk up the street past Auburn St. We are across from Doherty Park.
Driving and Parking
It is easy by car to get to us and there is parking. Carpool if you can. We have two visitor spaces on the right side of our building that are available if you come early. Bunker Hill St. has some visitor parking and a lot of resident parking. Usually they don’t ticket in the resident parking, but I can’t promise that. Medford St. is all visitor parking. If you park there, you can walk through Doherty Park to our building on Bunker Hill St. or walk up Chappie St. There is also visitor parking on Main St. near Auburn St. You can walk up Auburn St. If you have any problems call 617-633-1433 or 617-974-5088. All our guests to date have always found free parking. There is, however, $5.00 paid parking at Sullivan Square at the MBTA. Here are some ways to drive:
From the North Washington Bridge near North Station:
Take the Bridge. Continue straight on Rutherford Avenue (keep in the right-hand lane); take the first exit to Charlestown/Austin St. (near Bunker Hill Community College); turn right on Austin St., continue straight across Main St. and up Green St. (Austin becomes Green St.). Travel 3–4 blocks to Bunker Hill St. Turn left on Bunker Hill St. and go up the hill. We are after the church across from Doherty Park and the traffic signal.
From 93 North:
Get on 93 going north, going through the Big Dig tunnel over the Zakim Bridge. Stay on the far right and take the Sullivan Square exit. Take a right at the end of the long exit ramp going down from the 93 overpass, and go about 250 feet into Sullivan Square. Take the second right, keeping the Schraft’s Building on your left (don’t go over the bridge past the power plant! If you do, you have missed the exit). Go straight through the intersection up the hill (Bunker Hill St.). Our condo is 2–4 blocks up the hill on the right (#340 or #342), a big red brick former school building.
From Memorial Drive:
Go east (towards the Science Museum). It is a straight shot to Bunker Hill St.: keep going straight east on Memorial Drive, which turns in to Land Blvd. Cross O’Brien Highway (the Science Museum is on your right), and go straight over the Gilmore Bridge (formerly the Prison Point Bridge), which (continuing straight) turns into Austin St., where you can see the Bunker Hill Monument. Go straight through the lights at Main St. up the hill (now Green St.). Take Green St. for 3–4 blocks and you hit Bunker Hill St. Take a left onto Bunker Hill St., going up the hill until you see a church on the right at the top. Continue about 150 feet and you will see our building on the left, a big red brick former school house.
From Storrow Drive:
Take Storrow Drive east to Leverett Circle. Turn left onto O’Brien Highway going north past the Science Museum (don’t go into the tunnel which goes North (the Leverett Connector). Take a right onto the Gilmore Bridge and follow the directions from the North Washington Bridge, above.
From 93 South:
Get off at the Sullivan Square exit. At Sullivan Square right before the Schraft’s building and after Rutherford Avenue, turn right on Bunker Hill St. Go up the hill until you see the church. We’re at the traffic signal before the church and across from Doherty Park.
At 342 Bunker Hill Street
If you arrive for an event, there may be someone waiting in the lobby to let you in to the building. Otherwise, buzz “Levins,” or call us at 617-974-5088 or 617-633-1433 to get into the building. Take the elevator up to 5A.
